My First Five Years is an exciting young company on a mission to change international parenting for the better by empowering parents with knowledge through our 0-5 years old development tracking app.

Our strategic objective is to increase the stickiness of the app following a successful onboarding. You’ll work alongside the Head of Product and stakeholders, to grow upon the existing foundations of the App.

We have ambitious growth plans, so this role will be challenging to ensure that parents download, learn, enjoy and share the app to widen its audience globally. We’re passionate about making a difference to children and parents, our mantra is “doing well by doing good”.

 

Your job will include

  • Working in a cross-functional team to design and build a great iOS application experience that our users will love
  • Ensure work is done to a high standard, is well tested and follows good coding practices
  • Feedback and help improve ways of working
  • Identify and prevent issues before they happen to avoid disruption to our users
  • React quickly to resolve issues where prevention fails
  • Use your knowledge to suggest new and innovative ways to improve the application and user experience
  • Write and help maintain clear, concise and comprehensive technical documentation
  • Get your hands dirty in other areas of the business where appropriate (we are a start-up)

 

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Proficient in the use of Swift in a production application (Objective-C is a bonus)
  • Experience of using core iOS frameworks, such as UIKit
  • Demonstrate experience and clear understanding of testing best practices and frameworks, such as XCTest
  • Up-to-date practical knowledge of App Store Connect and the iOS release process
  • Knowledge of SwiftUI from a practical or theoretical perspective
  • Past experience using CoreData
  • Experience consuming RESTful APIs
  • Ability to reason about other people's code and provide constructive feedback (not necessarily in the same language)
  • Solution-oriented, delivery-focused and put a high emphasis on quality
  • Excellent communication abilities and a high team orientation
  • Able to demonstrate understanding/experience of working in Agile environments and Agile culture
  • Willingness to help tackle other disciplines such as Android, and API

 

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • CI/CD (GitHub Actions, Fastlane, Xcode Cloud)
  • Analytics (Firebase, Mixpanel, Amplitude, etc)
