Non-Executive Director - My First Five Years

Salary: £12,000 per annum

Time Commitment: 1 day per month or equivalent (ie. 2 x half days)

We are My First Five Years - an exciting scale-up technology business with a next generation parenting App, social media platform and community for parents of children under the age of five. This is an exciting opportunity for you to be a part of one of the UK’s most exciting scale-up businesses, making a real difference in the lives of thousands of families.

Knowing that children do not develop to a timetable, we are the only app of its kind to tailor a child’s unique first five year journey in accordance with where the child is at. We are on a mission to break generational parenting cycles and take the ‘comparanoia’ out of parenting!

2023 will be a transformational year of growth, and we are looking for a Non-Executive Director to join our Board and work closely with our Co-founders Jennie Johnson MBE and Alistair Bryce-Clegg, who have amassed over 50 years’ experience in the early years sector.

As a key member of our Board, you will have the opportunity to shape our future on this very exciting trajectory.

Our ideal candidate will:

  • Have significant direct-to-customer marketing experience.
  • Have experience of launching brand-led direct to consumer products.
  • Have worked at Director or C-Suite level.
  • Have a network of contacts that can open doors for the brand to speed traction.
  • Have a broad understanding of digital-first marketing including paid, organic, influencer and other marketing channels - with a proven track record in scaling customer base.

Your role will include:

  • Working directly with the founders providing strategic advice and support.
  • Attending board meetings (6 per year) to assist the founders and executive team with strategic guidance and input.
  • Acting as an ambassador for My First Five Years.
